Sports!

I’m at the Jazz game with my friends. Maybe I’m just too marketing-brained, but all I see here is commerce, logos and ads. QR codes placed directly in front of the audience whenever the home team scores. People made to wear branding while they play games to win prizes so gracefully bestowed by large corporations. Owners of the game, stadium and our technology.

It’s always been this way, since I was a child. There’s just something about sports and crowds that gets me all existential. I’m actually amazed that anyone is actually able to focus on the game with the music and the lights, the MC yelling random stats and everyone cheering, and the constant advertising.

I’m not a competitive person. I’m not a sports oriented person. I wish I was! God, how I wish I could get lost in the energy of the crowd, anticipating every player's move—but I can’t. I’m just not for that world. I’d rather be here, just outside the stadium writing a blog no one will read :)
